Panorama of the Thames
Help Page
The greyed out areas of the river menu show where our panorama work is currently in progress or awaiting sponsorship.
The panoramas are accessed through the river-menu page which shows a stylistic representation of the London Thames with key areas marked. You can select an area by tapping (or clicking) on the place name. This will open an introductory page and position you at the begining of that panorama.
You can cruise along the river by clicking one of the transport buttons on the bottom left of the panorama or you can select a specific landmark from the select box at the bottom centre of the panorama. This Landmark Select box lists all landmarks in the panorama.
Tap or Click on a landmark name and the pan will move to it and display information about it. You can close the information page by clicking the x in the top right of the information page or clicking anywhere outside the page.
You can also select a landmark by tapping or clicking on it as you pass, and this will open its information page The information page not only contains text about the landmark but in most cases there are additional small images. If these are marked "Tap for a larger image" then a large image will appear if yuo tap it. If they are marked "Tap to view Gallery" then multiple imagews are availble which can be viewed using the left and right arrows on the large image.
At the top of the information page is a share icon which displays the unique address of that landmark. You can send this address to other people to view the exact same landmark.
When you get to the end of a pan an arrow will appear to take you to the next panorama along the riverside- for example, you can cruise from Pimlico to Westminster without breaking your journey .
Alternatively, you can select any other panorama on the river-menu - return to this page by selecting it from the left menu and then choose another place to view. You can quickly select any panoramas by returning to the river menu as you wish.
The panoramas are controlled through the onscreen menu system.
